Beachside Villas

Upside, close to one of the best sections of beach. Downside there is no sound insulation between floors, you can hear every footstep from the apartment above. The condo complex is maintained but it is dated. We stayed at building 11 this is the farthest building away from the beach. Not really a long walk, unless you're carrying all the usual beach peripherals. But the one thing you can't overlook is the noise from appartments above.

We stayed in building 12. Which is the furthest building in the complex from the beach access, which I didn't know...and of course no beach view from first thru third floor which I knew when booking. No elevator, so plan on one to two flights of stairs. It is still a reasonable distance to and from the beach, however all the other buildings in the complex are closer! The pools are clean and each building has their own, from what I can tell. We booked via Panhandle Getaways and overall our experience with them was a good and satisfactory one all in all. NOW...That said, the beds in our unit were just TERRIBLE! completely worn-out with little to "no" support making for a truly horrible nights sleep. Think of two complete divots in the mattresses. The shower head hand wand attachment in the master bath was broken upon arrival, and when we noticed it after the first day at the beach we made the call letting management know it was broken (and not by us!) they didn't have any staff available until the following morning to make the repair. There were zero clothes hangers in the closets. And while the kitchen was decently outfitted there was no dish soap, nor sponge to clean any of the pots, pans or dinnerware. (2 dishwasher pods were provided). For our unit, don't bring k-pods, you will need ground coffee for the drip coffee maker. When we arrived the bar soap in both bathrooms, had been opened and looked to have been used previously. Check out is 10am and if you are late, they will charge for an additional nights stay. We visit this area twice a year and know that there are better deals in the area for the same money...so shop around.

The price was ok, once we arrived we discovered why. Amanda, who works for invited home was the only good thing about that "condo". It smelled moldy, the children's bunk beds had been broken and diy fixed, and not well. The blinds were broken, and the stopper in one of the sinks, these issues were taken care of the day they were reported. It was little more than a well decorated 2 bedroom apartment near the beach. The pool was nice and having the beach chair rentals was a plus. We decided that we wanted to stay another night and Amanda was able to work it out for me. All and all it wasn't a bad experience but if you're considering the Starfish, spend an extra $20-80 a night and stay right on the beach in a way nicer place. The service was excellent, and it was a good value.

The condos are very nice, but the beach access right at the condo has very little public beach access due to the house down the beach owning to the water edge, turning the public beach access into an area where only about four families can fit at that entrance. The only other beach entrance is about a 5 minute walk or the condo provides a trolley to the beach entrance.

The place is very dated; we stayed at building 6 unit (623) I will let my photos tell the story. The sliding door doesn’t open easily (since I couldn’t photograph the problem with it), also kitchen electrical plug doesn’t work. Please take a look at below. The bathroom mirror has to be propped up , kitchen sink looks horrible, main tv remote control had no batteries, shelf in the bathroom is coming out of the wall. The only thing good about it, that it lose to the beach.
